Tutorial 6 of 7
The report, exports, project files and sharing
Beginner 6 min
Print one consolidated report, export findings and runs as CSV, save the dossier with or without its files, share it as a link and hand documents to other apps.
After a few tool runs, a dossier holds more than any single document: findings from several readers, comparisons, deadlines, redaction proofs. The Report view (key 0) puts all of it on one page.
1. Read and print the report
Open Report. The Preview shows the dossier name and description, a one-line summary (… documents, … tool runs, … findings (… high attention).), the Findings sorted by attention, Deadlines, Comparisons, the documents and every tool run.
Press Print / PDF (or Ctrl+P) and choose Save as PDF in the print dialog. The report says at the bottom that the rule-based analyses quote what they found and are not legal advice.
2. Notes
Under Notes, write your own Markdown — questions for the landlord, what you agreed on the phone. Preview safely renders it through the safe-markdown-preview tool with raw HTML escaped, so pasted content cannot run scripts. Download Markdown saves the notes as a file. Citations from Read → Identifiers & data (Add citations to notes) and steps from Checks land here too.
3. Exports
The Exports list offers:
| Export | Contents |
|---|---|
| Findings (CSV) | Every finding with document, area and attention level |
| Tool runs (CSV) | Every run with tool, documents, time, summary and status |
| Documents (CSV) | Names, kinds, sizes, pages, roles and lineage |
| Dossier (JSON) | The project file without document contents |
| Report (Markdown) | Findings, deadlines and notes as Markdown text |
| Findings chart (SVG / PNG) | A chart of the findings for slides |
Deadlines go to your calendar from File → Export deadlines (.ics). Each document can be downloaded on its own from Document details.
4. Save, open and share the dossier
Paperwell autosaves into this browser. To move a dossier to another device or keep a backup:
- File → Save project file (
Ctrl+S) saves a.paperwell.jsonwith texts, results and notes — no document files. - File → Save with documents (bundle)… (
Ctrl+Shift+S) embeds the files too. - File → Open project file… (
Ctrl+O) opens either kind; you can also drop it on the workspace. - File → Copy share link copies a link with the whole dossier in its
#project=part — texts and results, not the files. Anyone with the link sees the same dossier. - When you are signed in to usefulweb.site with Google Drive connected, the top bar offers Save to Drive, Open from Drive and Auto-save to Drive.
File → Templates and recent dossiers… lists every dossier saved in this browser; Delete removes one from the browser.
5. Hand a document to another app
Select a document and choose File → Open selected document in another app… (or Open in another app… in Document details). The list shows the usefulweb apps that accept PDFs, images or text — a page image can go to an image editor, an OCR text to a writing app. Other apps can send PDFs, images, texts and Markdown to Paperwell the same way; they arrive as new documents.
6. For scripts and AI agents
Help → API, MCP and project format shows how to call all seventeen site tools and Paperwell’s own three engine tools — paperwell-notice-deadlines, paperwell-page-plan and paperwell-document-scan — through the JSON API or MCP, and links the JSON schema of the dossier format.
